The Tajik authorities assert that the medical examination and treatment of children returned from Iraq continues, and further steps will be taken to implement programs for their return to families. However, the Tajik expert believes that the measures that government takes are not enough.
In Tajikistan, amid the killing of foreign tourists, believers of non-Islamic confessions speak of religious intolerance growth. However, the authorities deny this trend.
Women and children are the highest priority, but their rehabilitation is not on the agenda.
«Today, a certain number of local experts believe that banning Tablighi Jamaat in the country will be extremely unwise. Since for Kyrgyzstan it represents no threat, but, on the contrary, ideologically opposes the Wahhabi and Salafi movements», Roza Duisheeva, a participant of the School of Analytics cabar.asia, writes in her article.
Jehova Witnesses in Kazakhstan are open, eager to share any information. Their activity aren’t restricted in Kazakhstan, however there is risk for restrictions due to incorrect interpretations and understanding of some aspects of their beliefs from society.
Kyrgyzstan has 23 communities of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 6 of which are located in Bishkek. The main prayer house is located on the outskirts of the city and is the spiritual centre of Adventists in the republic. (more…)
There are more than 140 thousand residents in the town of Chirchik, Tashkent region, including 500 followers of the religious organisation, Jehovah’s Witnesses. They cannot get registered in any other town of Uzbekistan, therefore, the information about their exact number in the country is not available.
